Giving great talks: how to overcome your fears of public speaking and get your message across
Russ Miles, international keynote speaker and CEO of ChaosIQ.io, shares how he prepares for and executes some of the most popular talks on the conference circuit. This workshop includes plenty of support, guidance, stories and discussion to help you start or improve your own journey to confident public speaking.
This workshop covers the following topics:
Audience and prerequisites
This workshop is aimed at anyone who is interested in public speaking, and at improvers who want to gain new skills. There are no prerequisites apart from an open mind and willingness to participate.
“Russ did teach us how to make great slides, but that was a tiny part of the lessons I learned on this course. Everything from how to prepare, how to build a narrative, how to use humour, how to avoid humour, was covered and practiced and my own public speaking has improved immensely!”
“I came to the course desperate to learn to speak publicly and Russ showed me that there was nothing ‘special’ to it, just good method, practice, and having confidence in your own storytelling ability. I love it!”
Voxgig is committed to diversity at events and wants to ensure that these workshops are as inclusive as possible. Let us know if you have any access, dietary, religious or other requirements, and if you require childcare during the workshop – we are hoping to be able to support parents who want to attend.
